Proposal Abstract

 This research introduces demonstrations for using with the Interactive Lecture Demonstrations in the introductory university physics course on the topic of linear momentum and collisions. The objective of this research is to develop the demonstrations to increase students’ understanding in the introductory university physics course in linear momentum and collisions. The demonstrations are expected to be effective to the student learning process especially in a large class environment. At the same time, these demonstrations should increase the potential for instructor-student interaction in the lecture class, demonstrations to verify theorem by real situations, and interest of students to learning in the lecture class. To evaluate the demonstrations proposed, the pre- and post- conceptual tests, interviews and observations in the lecture class will be used.
