Theses


Outline of PENThai Research 

The research of the PENThai group focus on improving students conceptual understanding as well as their expectation in physics by applying effective teaching strategies to several kinds of physics class, including a large university lecture class, a normal school-size class and a laboratory class.

Most of the science teaching strategies we adapted are based on the iquiry method. This includes 5E learning, peer instruction, interactive lecture demonstration, POD, etc. We are also conducting a research in changing students expectation towards learning physics. These are developed mostly for first-year university science students. However, we have also conducted researches with high-school students as well as science teachers. The group also provides teachers an students training in a variety areaas in physics topics. 

The physics topics in which we have been interested cover Classical Mechanics (Force and Motion, Momentum), Optics (Light Reflection and Refraction), Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism and Quantum Mechanics. Moreover, our interests also include applying physics to the forensic science.
